The destruction of Fort McMurray was preventable. However, if he were to appear in Lac La Biche or Edmonton supporting the middle-class Canadians who have been displaced by this disaster, it would be of important symbolic value. His presence in Fort McMurray at this time would not be helpful. ![]() ![]() Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is quite right. Now that most of the residents of Fort McMurray, Alta., have left, will the RCMP be able to resist the temptation to search the vacated homes looking for guns and who knows what else, like they did in High River?
